I have had the pleasure to be friends with and style Brandi for more than ten years. I love working with all her gorgeous hair. In this picture we have used a multidimensional color technique a trim and have finished with a hot wand and set with the L'Oréal infinium 4 hair spray.
In this short video I show what came in the March Ipsy bag .
Ipsy for those that do not know is a monthly subscription box that delivers (surprise) cosmetics, skincare, and haircare!
I wouldn't run out to restock all the products but am happy to say they will all be used in some way! The NYX lipstick in my opinion is very pigmented but also very thick and sticky. The living proof smells good but is very white ( I would never recommend this product for anyone but a blonde, it's not the best.) The me me me brush is soft and has held up well thru prom season. I like the eye cream by Aphrodite it smells good and is smooth and feels great as part of a nightly rou. I have used the Temptu bronzers before and like them very much. By watching the other youtube reviews I have seen how we all get a little something different. I THINK IPSY IS GREAT AND LOOK FORWARD TO RECIEVING A NEW BAG EACH MONTH! YAY!!!
My path, I feel sometimes, is constantly changing. Oh, I make plans ...lots and lots of plans. I THINK LONG AND HARD... I have so many great ideas about how I will fit it all in a day and everyone will love all the fun stuff so much they won't mind some of that thing they call hard work! Plans feel rigid like a blueprint that must be built to code. I live with goals and the Lord as my compass so I may move with the current of life and not have insurmountable fears! I have thought about the schooling, the work, the fitness, the meals, the shopping, the saving, and at the end of all the planning I realize I have to throw caution to the wind a bit and GO with what works! I want to enjoy my day with my kids, I want to do the hard stuff, but do it with grace, and if THAT MEANS WALKING AWAY FROM THE CRAZY...I DO JUST THAT! I love that I have had some big crazy messes to clean up after a long day learning. I love that we have learned all day and not written anything down. I love that even on the worst days (losing my temper) I have taught forgiveness. I know I am learning so much right now at this stage of my life and like a good student I'm going to take notes!
I am excited for many reasons about this Easter 2016! First I truly feel connected to my church home ( His Hands) . I have been committed to going for awhile and loved the messages but recently I have overcome wanting sleep in every Sunday! It moves me that my church finds ways to connect so many people to something bigger than one could be alone! Earlier this month there was an opportunity to make Easter baskets for foster children and I was more than happy to make some! I passed the word on to my dear friend Dawn who is the queen of gift basketry. She and I collectively must have made about 15! It warms my heart to think that we brightened some little one's day!
My sweet husband and I celebrated our eighth anniversary. We were married on Driftwood beach at Jekyll Island in 2007. Almost every other year we have made it down for a picnic at the exact spot where we were married. I have the best time bringing my children here. We say a prayer of thankfulness over our crab cakes, sitting on top of the quilt we stood on when we said our vows. It will be a vivid memory I will always cherish.
This was Amelia's first trip to the beach. I remember Jonah's first trip he played with a red ball and we ate the same orzo recipe from our wedding a caprese pasta , and crab cakes, and we had a toast to 1 year. Jacksons first trip he napped while Jonah was adventuring about. As our family grows I see many more picnics in our future. I feel my heart is most full when I think back to these moments.
Wow it has been awhile !
We have done so much in two years and I have been journaling and keeping track of all the big milestone moments. We have added a new member to the family miss Amelia was born in November of 2014 and life was a whirlwind even before her arrival! I have been on top of the world with all the fun we have been having. The boys both love having baby sister in their life and I couldn't have asked for a better life loving and learning with my babes and my hubs.
I have continued to do hair and be a homeschooling momma. I am looking forward to updating our past and adding bits of our journey along the way. There is plenty to write about and counting our blessings will be such a great way to renew my tired momma spirit.
Check out this awesome web series called

I am proud to have been one of the hair and makeup artist on the Guillotine episode. Happy Halloween!
I had a fabulous time styling hair for the Sarah lou Designs fashion shoot. Who doesn't love a morning at the lake with awesome people! We were channeling a 1940's Finger waved remix with touches of individuality and a bit of cutesy flair. I think the photos came out great and everyone was all smiles and good cheer.
